Danny Guy was born and raised in Sebring, Ohio. He was a graduate of Sebring Mckinley High School and continued on to further his education and went to the Police Academy. Danny worked for the Village of Sebring Police Department for 33 years. Through his career as a police officer for Sebring he earned the Ready Medal in September of 2013 for 26 years of service; Triumphant Medal-Officer of the Year in 2016 and the Legion of Honor Medal with Gold Oak Leaf in 2017.
He was known to everyone in the Sebring Community and touched so many people. He will always be remembered for riding his bike through town and staying connected to his family and friends. Danny had a love for children and he took it upon himself to be there for the students of Sebring. The kids looked forward to seeing Officer Guy when they arrived and left the school each day. He had a passion for what he did and he served his community to the fullest by running the Community Improvement Program; being the Evidence and Juvenile Officer. He was a true hero to the Sebring Community.
As part of Danny's desire to help children in the Sebring area, he would recycle aluminum cans. He would then use the money to directly help children in need including purchasing clothing, toys, and even taking the patrols to a Cleveland Indians game! He would always say "It's all about the kids". We lost Danny much too early on January 9, 2018. We are honored to have known Danny Guy and believe his legacy and desire to help the kids in the Sebring area should live on. We have Danny's example and chosen to continue to recycle cans and use the money to directly help the kids in the Sebring Community. Through the generous support of the citizens in the community and from area businesses we will be keeping keeping Danny's memory alive and continue to make "it all about the kids"!
